Cold Rooms and Freezer RoomsFrom calculation to commissioning, from a single provider.

We design, install and commission chilled cold rooms and sub-zero freezer rooms for restaurants, food shops, food production and logistics businesses.

Capacity selection based on heat load calculationAfter-installation service and maintenance
WHAT WE DO

Complete installation, from the room itself to the refrigeration unit.

We design the room and the refrigeration system together, based on the type of product, daily intake and target temperature.

Chilled storage rooms

Chilled rooms (approx. 0 / +8 °C) for fruit and vegetables, dairy products, beverages and ready meals.

Freezer rooms

Sub-zero rooms (approx. −18 / −25 °C) for frozen goods, with floor insulation and frost heave protection details.

Panel and door installation

Polyurethane sandwich panels, hinged or sliding cold room doors, pressure relief valves and corner details.

Refrigeration unit

Selection of split or monoblock units, condensing unit and evaporator; copper pipework, insulation and electrical connections.

Controls and monitoring

Digital control panel, defrost settings, door and temperature alarms, optional temperature logging.

Leak checks and records

Evacuation, leak testing and refrigerant charging; the records and labelling required by F-gas regulations.

WHO IT IS FOR

Every business with a cold chain.

Restaurant and hotel kitchensCompact chilled and frozen rooms for daily use.
Food shops, butchers, delicatessensSeparate temperature zones for each product group.
Food productionStorage for raw materials and finished products.
Warehousing and logisticsLarge-volume storage and pre-dispatch storage.
PROCESS

Four steps from site survey to handover.

  1. Site survey and heat load calculationCapacity is calculated according to the type of product, intake temperature, daily quantity, frequency of door openings and ambient conditions.
  2. Design and quotationA written quotation is prepared, covering room dimensions, panel thickness, choice of equipment and timescale.
  3. InstallationPanels and doors, the refrigeration unit, pipework and electrical connections are installed.
  4. Commissioning and handoverThe system is handed over after leak testing, a pull-down check and user instruction.
WHY HYDRATERM

Calculated systems, documented operation.

  • Regulatory compliance: installation, servicing and leak checks on refrigerant systems are carried out and recorded in accordance with EU F-gas rules.
  • Calculation-based selection: equipment output is determined by heat load calculation, not by estimate.
  • Single point of responsibility: room, refrigeration, electrics and controls are delivered as one project.
  • After-installation support: periodic maintenance, leak checks and breakdown service.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a cold room and a freezer room?

Cold rooms store fresh products above zero. Freezer rooms keep frozen products below zero; they require thicker panels, floor insulation and a different refrigeration unit.

Which refrigerant is used?

We recommend equipment that uses low-GWP refrigerants compliant with current EU F-gas rules. The choice depends on the room temperature and capacity.

How long does installation take?

It depends on the size of the room and equipment availability. The exact timescale is stated in the quotation after the site survey.

Do you service and maintain existing cold rooms?

Yes. We also carry out fault diagnosis, leak checks, refrigerant charging and periodic maintenance on rooms installed by other companies.

What electrical supply is required?

Small rooms often need a single-phase supply, while larger capacities require three-phase. The existing supply is checked during the site survey.

Let’s plan your cold room or freezer room together.

Tell us what you will store, the approximate room size and the target temperature, and we will prepare a capacity calculation and quotation.
